I have the C compressor. I see no type or T so I assume it is Type 0. I have replaced the pressure switch and the brushes, but it is still blowing fuses. Any suggestions would be welcome. Once I put a new fuse in, it will run on the first try but then that fuse will blow shortly after.

Thanks for any help. It sounds as if you have a short in your motor windings. Or your check valve is not working properly. I'll look into those possibilities. Before this began, the compressor would act like it wanted to start running occasionally, but sounded like a car that wouldn't start.

Then finally it quit completely. Question: Model Number karyl. My label says my compressor is a C probably type 0 since Type or T aren't anywhere , but the compressor looks like the C with the black housing.

Is there a way to check by serial number? Hello karyl, You may want to call Porter Cable and ask them about the serial numbers. I did notice there is a difference between the manifolds. I have in air leak from the cylinder head on my porter cable pancake air compressor up and here leak from the cylinder head on my porter cable pancake air compressor. The leak is coming from a round hole on the cylinder head itself. The hole looks like it is designed to be there. I have replaced both head gaskets and the tube seal from parts I ordered from your website and the leak is still there.

Do you have any suggestions? The leak now sounds like it is worst than it was before the repair. Question: Head Gasket Blowhard. The shaft holding the main drive wheel has failed, apparently due to metal fatigue and in the process broke the connecting rod. I see that you have connecting rods in stock but can you supply the shaft 0. Thanks, Jim. Hello Jim, The manufacture does not supply that shaft only. The complete motor assembly would have to be purchased.

You can buy a new compressor for less money anyway. But you may be able to find a used one or one that has not been repaired at a service center and use the parts off of it. Good luck, -WJA. Question: Portercable Compressor wlcoker I have a c type 4 portercable compressor. I was releasing the air in the hose by turning what i am calling the "regulator knob", i turned the knob to far and the knob popped off the threads and the knob, spring and the valve fell on the floor i put everything back togather and screwed it back on but i replaced the valve backwards and it crushed the plastic pin that is on the inside of the knob as well as the valve.

So I need a knob and the valve but i do not see the components on the explosded view of the diagram. Please help.

Hello wlcoker12, In some of their compressor models the manufacture supplies a regulator repair kit. Unfortunately with this model number they do not. You would need to order the complete manifold assembly. Or you might try a local compressor service center in your area to see if they have any parts that would work for your compressor. Hope this helps, -WJA. I have a psi pancake compressor that is a couple of years old. When I turn it on it gets up to about psi and keeps running.
