I actually have a tivo and the Moto-comcast box. I heard rumors of Tivo blowing the comcast deal originally, but salvaging it so perhaps we'll see a comcast hd box with Tivo software soon. Generally, the Device setup code is meaningless unless you are using a built-in device code, which in this case I believe you are NOT since there IS no built-in Setup Code in the The device upgrade that you are using might shed some light on your problems, if it uses a protocol that perhaps is sub-optimal for your equipment. The upgrade and the remote work, its just behaves as if sometimes the keypresses are not responded to. I can see from the red light the signal is going out. I suspected it was the Motorola box which does have some problems in this area.
However, when I use the Comcast remote, it works fine. I am also suspicious it could be the has lower output power. Any other clues? Behavior sounds typical of some sort of mismatch.
